I have already built my new 120 gallon setup, but I figure everyone likes pictures and stories of setting up new tanks..
120 gal AGA with custom stand and canopy built by Dave Ostermiller... He also built my sump/refugium... did a beautiful job!
Here is sanddune600 helping with all the plumbing and setup... It took us over 30 hours to set it up and move all the live stock and rock from my 90 gal. Oh yeah we only had 4 days to do it!!
And here is the live stock in the tank
Of course when it final got time to put the live stock in it was 2:00AM so we just threw them in! We were tired
stud, or dud? just kidding. looks nice. i love that you enjoy a taller stand as well. i hate having the short stands that all the tanks come with. i like mine to be at 40" or somewhere around there, and have the tank go up from there. whenever you have someone looking at it and you are talking you are always standing anyways.
Make sure you post your best pictures every month in our POTM forum.
the story goes like this... I bought my first SW tank December 2007. I have had fresh water tanks for over 5 years. I have always loved SW but never dared to try. I had a mutal FW friend buy a 45 gallon SW tank so I figured I could try. I bought a 90 gallon from a couple who were getting out. they had the tank for two years but never really did anything with it. Long story short I didn't do anything with it either until I went to Fiji last summer!! After that it has been an addiction ever since.
We moved into a new office in Feb. and we were going to do a Fresh water tank in the loby but my boss asked me what a SW tank would cost!? I gave him an estimate and the rest is history... the tank has been running since the middle of Feb. with ALOT of help from Sanddune600 and Dave Ostermiller, (can't remember his forum name? sorry dave). It has been fun to watch everyone in my office get involved and learn about the tank.
Very nice. I really like the taller stands also, it is really tough to be standing there hunched over looking, especially with salt water tanks, there is just soo much to look at.
