Anyone have a diagram of their plumbing? I am about to start plumbing mine and just want to make sure that i don't miss anything that is an easy add on now instead of a hard add on later...any advise would be great as well what you would add and what you would take out. Thanks
well i am going to be getting that 125 and so i wanted to start planning the plumbing so i can get all the kinks worked out before hand and that way maybe i can set it up and have is cycling by the time my house is about done.....i hope....
This site may be of assistance. He documents pretty well with nice pics, mostly about sumps though, but he has a lot of plumbing shots and recommendations.
You want your lines to be as short, straight and direct as possible to increase efficiency of flow. You can always restrict your flow down, but you have to re-plumb to expand. Be generous with your pump selection.
Use the largest pipe that you can work well with. 1.25" diameter pvc has about 2x the capacity as a 1" pipe.
Be sure to glue your joints.
Include places for disconnect joints for maintenance
Being able to shut off any one line is a good thing.
Plan your electrical and plumbing to co-exist in peace
I would plan out your plumbing and post it here. Then you can get some feedback. I would highly recommend reading The Reef Aquarium volume 3 by Delbeek and Sprung (at least the chapter on plumbing).
