I would check the buy sell trade section here on the board. I wish we would've found this board and bought a used one before we spent all the money we did on a new one.

Stands and hoods...Aquatic Dreams, no question. Buy a used tank and use the money you saved to buy a nice stand and hood from Aquatic Dreams. I would agree with it being glass (drilled of coarse).

Those too are very nice.
I'd buy the tank from Fish 4 U if it is a standard sized tank. If you want a custom nano tank I'd go to Marine Aquatics.

I called fish 4 U and they said 300 for a 90 Reef ready.
Dion do you build there stuff you have done some nice stands. I was feeling bad for being pridefull showing the last two stands I built until I realized I got reccomened to a store that sales stands built by the guy the reccomended them to me. Just kidding but nice work.
I think 4' is as big as I would go and a 120 is too wide for the space.

I agree used is a good option however this is going into a brand new dentist office and I would feel better about it being new.

283 at The Aquarium and I think 262 at Aquatica, Birdworld is usually the most expensive for tanks but they will price match. If they are not closer then why bother, same with Incredible Pets but slightly cheaper than Birdworld.

See here is where I get into big trouble, being asked a question like the one previous to this one
As far as stores selling stands Aquatic Dreams sells the Best hands down. Thats not prideful its a fact. Ive replaced many stands that have been bought from other lfs's that had issues either with stability or damage from water. (not to mention the prefab units from Peftco and All glass) The reason I'm confident is the internal framing on my stands.
The only ones better that Ive ever seen are the steel frames from Mountain Shadow. Absolutely bullet proof. For the last 6 months they have had the most awesome wood wraps available (OK maybe that was prideful)
Are they better than something that an individual can build. Well...thats a loaded question. It all depends on their SKILL level. The two you posted look AWESOME.( Nice work.)I could talk all day about the ones Ive seen that don't.
I always will recommend anybody to Aquatic Dreams for more reasons than the absolutely best stands available. But thats JMHO.

I have been looking for tanks for 3 months now. I have been waiting for some money to come in for a lot longer than I expected, which is good because it forced me to do a lot of research. I have looked at every LFS in Davis, Salt Lake, and Utah counties, and hands down the best quality for the money is Aquatica. Nothing personal Dion, I am talking total package not just stand, your stands are awsome.
Aquatica can modify the stands to fit any lighting or anything else you need. Go check out their new expansion it looks really nice.
Of course look at the total cost. If you are spending $50 in gas to save $40 you need to re-evaluate your decision.
ps. still waiting for the check and the wifes permission (which might take the longest time)

No offense taken.
Ive seen Aquatica's furniture. Its definitely a step up from the standard stuff most LFS's carry. And Ive yet to have a bad experience buying anything from them.
The difference in my stuff and others is I build all of my furniture for the discerning hobbyist. Internal framing, Flip up canopies etc. I'm not he cheapest by far. Nor do I strive to be. I build quality pieces that will stand up to floods, out of level floors and most anything you can throw at them. Its the difference between someone who is in the hobby and someone just building a cabinet.
Like Chris at Fish4U said. "The difference between our furniture and the finish we use is like the difference between a Newport and a Cadillac. "
Like any cabinet company we can build it to any spec you want including green material like Bamboo, Torzo, Durango Burl Wood etc.

I know we The Aquarium will match any local competitors price if it is lower then ours. As far as cabinetry goes. I think that all stores will claim theres is the best around, I really like aquatic dreams furniture as well as aquatica. Ours is local made also so by buying from any local store as far as custom goes you are supporting the store and the maker of the stands and canopys thus helping our cruddy economy ..BUY LOCAL .. So if you see a better deal at a store way across town from you call your local store and ask if they will match the price to save you the drive…

We have a 90 from Aquatica, great setup. Has been moved (not fun BTW) across town and set back up. NO problems. Not one not ever. Beautiful and easy to care for and definitely worth the money. The inside is real wood, not the particle stuff I have seen, and holds up beautifully.
