I got a workhorse 5 ballast for my PC hood.  The old ballast was going bad.  I have found the wiring diagram, but don't quite understand it.

The old ballast had 4 wires for each set of bulbs, with one wire to each pin.  The workhorse only has 2 red wires for each bulb, and a yellow wire that looks like it should go to both.

Can anyone explain to me how to hook this up?

First off, are you sure the WH5 can handle the load?  What wattage are the bulbs?  If they're 55 watt or smaller then you should be ok.

Yes wire them as you describe.  Two red wires to one side of each bulb and split the yellow wire and connect to the other side of each bulb.  That should do it.
