 Topic: Question for everyone

All of the candidates are voicing what they would like to see changed but I think we need to hear from those the changes affect. I am all for doing what is best for everyone. So my question is this: What changes if any, would you like to see made to the club/board? PLEASE no bashing, attacking or bringing up old dirt. I am HONESTLY interested in what everyone as a club would like to see done and what they expect from the club and its presidency. Please don't be afraid to answer, this is YOUR club/board and you do have a voice. Thanks.

I would like to see the meeting held on a friday so that I can make it to one. I live in Evanston and there is no way I can make it to the meetings during the week. And I also dont feel that it is right everyone bashing on Jerry just because he is trying to get in the presidency. I think people should welcome somebody new they might just have a few good ideas. Ive spoke with him several times and he seems like a very knowledgable guy.

Here's a couple that come to mind for our new leadership.
1. Mini Reef-Tour for members just to see each others tanks. Not just for those on the tour.
Maybe like a regional progessive dinner or go out to dinner after seeing each others tanks. Maybe like for the SLC folks go see Davis County tanks or Davis County folks go see Utah County. To promote tanks and include food and socializing.
2. Meeting Frag Selling I almost always participate in frags selling and buying in meetings when I come. What if we had that held off until after the mtg. Then all could go in other room and distribute goodies. This might do two things. A) It might encourage everyone to stay to end of meeting.
B) Sometimes it is distracting when done during mtg.
3. Website I like the scrolling chatline that is on the Breeder site. For those of us online, a live chatline might be a nice addition. Instant feedback. IE The other week I looked at my tank and all of a sudden it looked milky. I had overdosed with kalkwasser. I paniced and did 30gl water change with little improvement. A live chatline would have been a nice way to ask for immediate help.. I realize this past week, it might have been too much.
4. Website Monitoring I would really like the website to have more progessive monitoring. I'm all for open for free speech, but I'm embarrassed of what I've seen this week here. I hope we haven't lost too many folks who were turned off from what they saw.
5. Club Sponored Group Buys. It would be nice to have a quarterly or even monthly group buy to club members. A combination of either local spotlighted stores that offer special discount for a specific time and other online group buys.
Just some ideas.

I would love to have some sort of chat. I am seriously bored A LOT. Then I'd have someone to talk to!
I've already said my piece about moderation. I am for it, but only for the really offensive stuff, when people start getting their feelings hurt and upset. But that has happened a few times here.

I would love to see Taco's at the meetings  K, in all actuality, I think it would be cool if instead of just having a reef tour if we could have like a club directory telling where everyone is at, tank info, and if they're willing to have visitors come by. I love seeing others tanks, and the reef tour doesn't always work out for me. -Tim

all very good ideas and I agree with acrid. If i wasnt such a tough you know what I honestly might not have came back to this site. However I do forgive and forget. Like a loyal puppy dog. However it should of never happened in the first place. I am not the only one this has happened to and now you are all seeing that it is more common than you think. It needs to stop for sure. I am also all for having meetings friday night as I now have fridays off. Its only one night a month. Not every friday.

Thanks for the input so far guys (and gals). Kirk, being the donation coordinator this year, I have spoken to a few online stores that would be willing to give us a group discount for club buys plus with some, the club would get back a certain percentage. That is something I would also like to look further into. Great ideas and opinions.....keep 'em comin'

i have brought this up before and they said it will take up to much space on the server and that we couldnt support it.

once again brought this up before and the answer i got was we are all moderators. and you see how far that has gotten us this past week.

i found an awsome site with some great deals, i now have direct connect with some divers.
also we should do a diy at the meetings, i found another site for alot of other cool things including diy protien skimmer, kalk reactor, ect.
