I found one of these dead a few months back, and now a couple more.  It is very flat and about the size of a dime.  Maybe as thick as two dimes stacked on each other.  Here are some pics (just curious as to what it is.  I didn't add it and it appears to be reproducing?)

that is the "shield" of a Snail when it goes inside the shell it uses that as a cover to protect it's soft  body form the opening

to add to that that usually means the snail it came from is dead. Cry

That looks like it's from a mexican turbo.  I was just going to post some pictures of some of mine and see if anyone else thought they'd make cool buttons or cuff links hahahaha

I think they are very "pretty", both sides!  I wonder how they'd hold up though.  Maybe I'll try it some day!
