Hello all,

I have one of these royal blue sea urchins in my tank.  What I'm wondering is if he's going to be a nuisance and hurt any coral (SPS in particular) that I may have or will purchase in the future?  Wondering if I'll need to get rid of him.  Any opinions?

We have 2 in our 90 gal reef.  They haven't bothered our coral but they do have a lot of nice little shell hats.LOL

Tuxedo Urchins eat algae and are reef safe. You will be fine.

Do they knock over stuff?

I have a pencil tip urchin and it is always knocking over some of my rock work.

I guess you could say my rock work is not urchin proof.  Tongue

Our tuxedo never knocks anything over. But he does steal every single frag that is not glued down. I just lost a tiny gorgonian frag that way, I am mad! This morning he was wearing some zoos.

Seriously though, love him!
