your right! that is an awesome thread ... it was/is REALLY nice to see what the bulb color before buying.
so ... what bulb did you get and what bulb would you have preferred?

| Funny you would ask. I didnt like either bulb I had so I sold a new 250 watt 10K to jfinch for 40.00 ouch... I then bought another blueline which I really think is a little to blue for me. I am now stuck with 2 250 10K blue lines but before I buy again, I am checking out this site. Bluelines are not what I would have gotten but 300.00 in bulbs I dont like, Ive learned a lession... |

Connie,
When it comes time to replace your bluelines ask around here to see if anyone is willing to swap bulbs with you for a day or two so you can see the bulb color first hand. I bought a Sunburst 12K bulb about a year ago based on tank pictures at www.marinedepot.com and it was much too blue for me. More blue then the pictures suggested. It looks more like a 20K bulb, imo. Anyway, you would have been more then welcome to try out my bulbs in your tank (Ushio 10K, Coralvue 10K and Coralvue 20K).
If the Ushio 10K is too white/bright and the Blueline 10K is too blue I might suggest you try an AB 10K next. Are you supplementing the bluelines with vho or pc lighting? If so, have you tried 6500K or 10K vho/pc bulbs with the bluelines? IMO, a lot of the "harshness" of MH lighting can be softened with flourescents. ymmv...
(btw, thanks for the bulb, I love the color)

It's called a link because when you place the cursor over the text string and left click the mouse, your computer opens a window to that webpage.
