I have for my return pump a gen-x GX6000, and the ceramic shaft has been worn out unevenly. Does this happen alot on pumps its probably about 1 year old. I am afraid that its going to just break on me soon. I just noticed today that the pump was making kind of a rattling noise. Anyways hers a pic.

Yup thats exactly what I did for now but I need to still find a new one, know where I could get it?

Try the aquarium. They have a good parts selection.
