Well, several months ago (like 5 or 6) I bought a pepermint shrimp. It disappeared shortly thereafter
. So I bought another one. I've had it for a good long while, but noticed it was carrying eggs the other day. So, on saturday I picked up another pepermint. As I was waiting to acclimate and place the shrimp in the tank, I decided to clean my powerheads etc. With all the pumps off I'm up cleaning stuff through the top of my tank, when lo and behold I notice a set of eyes and antenna coming up my overflow tube
--I think to myself, what the heck, did my big pepermint crawl down in there for? So I rescued the shrimp. Then I started counting. Guess what? It was the pepermint that had disappeared months ago
. It had been living in my overflow tube now for all that time and was larger than when I got it. It simply amazes me how adaptable the things we put in our tank can be. But I'm happy, and actually have three instead of two pepermints now.
