I am going to build a ray tank. It is just going to be long and shallow. I know most rays need large tanks, but that is just so they can have plenty of substrate. So if I were to make a shallow long tank - what are some thoughts on a size?

How much bottom area are you going to have?

That is what I was wondering...  It is going to be a ray only tank - so there will be very little rock so I can have nearly 100% open bottom area... I was thinking around 6' x 18".

I would recommend a bottom area of 8'x2' for the smallest of the rays.
