Ok .. I am replacing my 55 gallon sump with a 70 gallon sump .. and I have a few questions about setting it up.
What is the best substrate to use ... I know some run crushed coral .. some run sand ... what is better for a mostly SPS display tank ... I have a frag tank that is attached to the current sump/display that has about 3" of crushed coral in it ...
the current sand that is in the current sump .. should I just toss that or move it into the new sump ... some of it is calcified into bascally rock for unknown reasons ...
the micro algea ,.... should it be seperate from the substrate .. or in the same chamber .....
I bought silicone from Lowes ... not the aquarium stuff though ... its GE brand silicone 1 and says 100% silicone ... (door and window type) and dose not have the algecide stuff in it .... is that safe to use to place the baffels in the new sump? ... or should I just use the stuff for aquariums ...
