OK these clear tube things are growing fast! They have almost extended in length another 1/4 inch since a few days ago! Now--even my students have noticed them! For once--when they said "what is that" I had to say--I dont know!
They are a complete series of interconnected tubes---very jelly like in appearance--but very tubelike as well. There are two of these things-on two seperate rocks. Strange huh? I would totally take a picture if I could but Mr. Anemone has decided to stretch his tentacles too far and shade these guys for most of the time, and the other one is in a spot that can only be seen at very strange angles! Dang it! Whatever they are they are neat!
