Krista makes a good point. Garlic oil is a natural fish attractant and we also use it to prevent the ich parasite in our fish. The Ich parasite occurs in almost all tank water and can become a problem when fish are stressed.
One drop of processed Garlic oil per cube of frozen meaty food. (If you are not using a full cube, there are ways to get less than a drop of oil.) Do not add water. Stir it and let it soak into the meaty food for 10 minutes after thawing, before feeding. Feed this once each day for 5 days for a new fish and once every 2-3 weeks thereafter as a preventive.
The least expensive Garlic Oil is at the health food store. Buy it in a dropper bottle or as gel caps. Yes, it will smell.
