Hello, I have never Fraged something. My Frog Spawn is getting to big and I want to frag to put some in my Nano tank.. How do I do this?
As I been reading I have a sorta idea... Use a razor and cut down at the stalk.. and put it on a rock with a needle in it.. But my question is Where do i cut it? I have one that has 2 heads like a V Do i cut it were the V comes to the other one?
I would say take a pair of needle nose plyers and break off a stalk an inch or two below any flesh. Or a dremel tool would work well or maybe even a razor knife with a lot of pressure. As for the V, I would cut one stalk off at the base of the V. I think the most important thing is to have an inch or so of stalk with no flesh as a buffer zone so you don't hurt the coral.
I agree with Kevin. This is an easy coral to frag. Just make sure and cut it below the living tissue. even If you cut the tissue the coral still has an excellant chance of survival.

Just break off as much as you want for the nano tank. I once had a big rock fall on top of my frogspawn and it crushed a couple of the polyp heads. Everything that broke off (even fragments of a single polyp) started growing into new frogspawn colonies.
Sooooo. Just grit your teeth and break off a piece. It'll be fine.
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth ... then He let it cycle.
Well their are 2 spots that are hard.. But Im taling about the Flesh itsself Its all flesh and its growing more and more but not hard rock is growing just flesh... Can I cut the V were the 2 flesh is? comeing together..
In that case, I would be very careful. Cutting that close to the head (the fleshy part) could cause an entire branch to shatter into pieces. You might just buy another one.
Are you adding Alk and Ca to your water?
Frogspawn usually grows branches that get longer and split into more heads. That's where breaking the branch below the head works good.
