Looks a bit yellow, but it should grow coral.  Keep this post updated as time goes by.

I tried this bulb and my conclusion was that this bulb is probably nore suited for growing algae rather than coral. My xenia shrivelled up after I tested it on my aquarium. It worked fine on algae though. I think the reason was too much UV. The MV bulbs are not as efficient as MH bulbs , the MV bulbs emit more in the UV side of the spectrum (as compared to MH) as well as more heat.

High-pressure Sodium bulbs are commonly used for Botany.  Has anyone ever tried that for refugias?

Nice rock. and tank, mollies, anemone and crab.

If you need a simple reflector, try mirrored aluminum in a sheet large enough and curved to cover the top. Advanced Lighting in SLC charges about $2/sq.ft. and they even cut to order.

Looking good peregrinus, how's the green algea growth on the acrylic? does the MV seem to promote it?

It's great to see those montis looking happy.  Ours look the same as yours.  Did the Green Fiji perk up?  Shane H said his did the same thing, but his looks really good.

Adam, can you tell me what kind of macroalgae he's got in the very first picture.  I'm wondering about the one that looks wide like grass, and grows tall.  I got some from Brian, but it disappeared.

Just in case anyone got your elongata xenia at the frag meeting.... here's where it came from.  Thank you Brian!    Clap

It's an awsome macro. I got a small peice from the raffle about a year ago.  It was doing well untill a turbo snail decided it was tastey.  I wouldn't mind getting another peice if you have enough.  I have a few things I can trade. I've got lots of Halimeda and a few other macros.
