Topic: Large Gravel Posted: September 01 2005 at 12:46am |
I was hoping someone knew of a place that I could get larger gravel for the display of my new 90g. I would like the same stuff that Aquatica has in their frag tank. It is all large pieces, 1/2" to 3/4", and pretty uniform in size. I am going to run a nice deep sand bed in the fuge, but I think I am going to run too much water through the display to have fine sand up there. If anyone sees some anywhere please let me know, I don't get to many fish stores, so the more eyes looking the better.
Thanks,

How long ago did you set it up? Was the gravel calcium carbonate? Thanks for the tip.

If by large gravel you mean a substrate of mostly shells and such, I probably have a couple gallons still left you could have. Frag donations in exchange would be appreciated, but not required.

Patrick, do you have a pic? I am looking for a substrate with pieces not smaller than about 3/8". Shells would be fine, and interesting as long as it is not mixed in with fine sand. My tiny tank is full of frags now, nothing large enough to frag again. I have a couple large bills I could frag though.
Thanks,

Just a warning I got all excited about the whole fragging idea when I fisrt heard about it. So I carefully cut the top "head" off of a $100.
And no matter how I attached the bottom half of 'ol Ben Franklin to a rock I could not get it to grow a new head.
