I currently have a coralife light fixture with 2 actinic 1 blue 1 purple ati bulbs. I want to be able to have anemones. I have had them in the past and they always die. I am ready to change lighting hoping that will help them.   I am needing help on what to buy. I really like the max specs.

I have 2 maxspect razors over my reef if you'd like to see what nems and things like that look like under led. I think it could be your bulb combination though are you having issues with anything else?

If you're not having issues with a carpet anemone having enough light I doubt it has to do with the lights. I have read before that a carpet anemone and a bubble tip in the same tank sometimes one or the other don't do well but I don't know how true that is as I have never owned a carpet nem

I had issues keeping anemone alive even before my carpet.

I'm curious how they are looking dead. Do they shrink up or what do they look like dead in your case? Does it look like its imploding? Do you feed them? They look like they are dying when they eat.

How old is the tank? Anemones struggle in new systems even if you feed them directly. Also what are your params of your water? I suspect it's something besides light because I keep anemones just fine in a 90 gallon tank with a 4 bulb corallife T5 fixture.

Tank is 6 years old.     I am wanting to take my tank to look like all the show tanks on the reef tour.   They all have nice tanks. I am tired of mine being at amateur level.

And water parameters? Salinity, nitrates, nitrites, phosphates, calcium, and alk?

its not your lights.....

if you can keep those corals alive, then the lights are fine.

You have something else going on.  Lack of flow, water chemistry, feeding....

I have a 4 bulb t5 on a 40g.

2 true blue, actinic, and a colormax I think...  I have 2 rbta nems that are lovin life in there.

Water temp 78 ph 8.4 salinity 1.012 nitrate 0 nitrite 0.   I have never tested for calcium, phosphate and alk. I have fed them small pieces of shrimp in the past and they even died with that. So this one I didn't feed at all. I have three power heads in the tank. I have a picture but it won't let me post it.

Hang on, your tank is 6 years old and you have never tested calcium, phosphate, or alk? While calcium doesn't have much to do with keeping anems phosphate and alk definitely do. I would suggest you know your phosphate level at a minimum before you try and add anymore life to the tank. Before adding anything with a stony skeleton you should know the calcium and alk.

Is your SG really 1.012? It should be around 1.024 to 1.026.

Yeah if you have seriously never tested alk and cal and your salinity is that low all of those may be what's going on or at least a combination of them..
