Ok guys so having a few fish die that came with the new setup I have decided to collect corals for a few more weeks before adding any fish. My question is where should I place my corals in the tank? What different lighting do they need?
Here is a list of what I have and where they are placed, if you could help me with placement and lighting needs I would really appreciate the help.
Zoas- middle elevation to a far side away from intense light.
Plays- bottom center 1/3
GSP- bottom center 1/3
Kenya tree- bottom center
Kenya tree- top center
Mushrooms- all over
Favia- top just right of center 1/3
Chalice- middle elevation to a far side away from intense light.
Candy cane- top elevation far side away from intense light.
Anemone- top third elevation just off center 1/3. I figured it would move if it wanted to.

Sorry for the big list. I have lots if questions and you guys have been awesome so far.
Running LEDs at 25% blues on 13 hrs, whites on 8 hrs for about a week now.
Just started feeding benepets reef food.

Aloha,

We know how exciting it can be to fill a new reef aquarium. We have been there and done that, countless times. This tank was set up just a few weeks ago. Also, you told me that algae has just recently appeared on the glass. Along with the unfortunate fish deaths, these are indicators of changes occurring and more changes still to come.

Your reef began with a good amount of the four live components, LR, LS, LW and Macroalgae (added just added a few days ago). It's a very smart way to set up a reef. Thumbs Up

Now is the time to be patient.

I believe everyone will agree that it should be left alone and allowed to grow for a month. Stern Smile I know how difficult this may seem, but there is stress during the growth process in the coming month. Adding additional coral at this stage will risk not only the new coral but may risk the coral currently in the aquarium, especially the Chalice and Favia.

In the first year after set up a tank goes through many changes. The Nitrogen cycle is well known but did you know there is a Sulfur cycle? There are other changes too. The tank has some maturing to do.

Big smile Looking at the bright side, there will be much new life popping up during the coming month. The bug population will increase and more worms and polyps will become visible on the LR and the LS. It can be a fun treat to get a magnifying glass and discover the unfolding of wondrously fascinating marine life. Party

Oh, I forgot. The only change I would suggest regarding coral placement and lighting is to move the Favia  down onto the sand under the light.
