Yes and no. I think you would be fine for the first little while but once everything started growing in, you will need to add a second.

ok what about one mp60? or would it be better to have different flow patterns with having two 40's?

A 60 is way too much. The 60's are meant for tanks that are at least 6 feet long.

2 40s is your best bet but 2 mp10s may work as well if the glass isn't thicker than 3/8". This actually reminds me, I was going to let Bob try out my MP10 on his 93g cube but I literally have no time anymore.LOL

I think it would be fine. You might want to add another cheaper powerhead with it like I do on my 90 gallon.

I think trevor only runs one on his cube.

I think nick also only runs one on his but I can't remember.
Indefinite hiatus from sw aquariums.

Once I have my glorious return I'll set back up the following.
50 Gallon rimless cube.
180 Gallons mixed reef paradise

I run an MP40 and an MP10 on my 60g cube. MP40 is probably adequate though.

I have a tank that's similar in size to the one you are looking at except it's the 70G. I'm using an MP40 and an MP10.

I don't think just the one MP40 is going to be enough (MP60 is definitely too big) you will need something else to supplement it. HTH

I have a ~90gal 36x30x20 and run a mag 18 for the return and a mp40 and its plenty of flow for me. My mag 40 isn't even turned up more than 60% or my sand is being moved around.
