Topic: Finally!! :) Posted: January 12 2012 at 5:13pm |
My Orange Ocellaris pair finally laid Tuesday evening! YAY!! I am down to my last 14 or so Mocha clown Juveniles. I was getting so frustrated as I have 5 pairs of Clowns and none of them were laying. I was talking to Amber at Fish 4 U and she was saying all the breeders were saying the same thing... none were laying. They have a pair in the store they call their *Half Blacks*, and they would lay religiously as mine did and bam one day just stopped. I am so thrilled to be able to fire up the breeder so to speak . That's intersting that many seemed to stop spawning for awhile. Remember My Solid black/B&W pair? I think they laid the other night! but it's behind my reef, where I can't see anything unless I pull out a bunch of rock and coral. The way they act thought makes me really suspicious. I'm glad that if they did, they finally did something! I'm going to get setup now for raising rotifers for the next time. . . if I can find the eggs that is.

Thanks! I was glad they decided to lay in the front of the anemone tank :). It was ironic how just the day prior I was thinking of putting a tile in to try and get them to lay on it,that is when I noticed them preparing the rock . YES YES, raise those black clowns..:). I am going to be out of town when they hatch so it's all on Troy :), I have faith he can do it. I will make sure to start a log once I feel comfortable that this is a good hatch. Pam

Pam - That is amazing! Mike will DEFINITELY want to see that tank! He LOVES clowns and wants to eventually get good enough he can breed them. :)
