Hello, My name is Conley. I'm currently living in Ogden Utah. I have a 90 gallon Reef tank that is currently at my parents until I can get my office into a position that it will fit. Besides that, I also have a 85 gallon Africa Cichlid tank and a 55 gallon Tropical community tank. In the near future I am wanting to setup a 14 gallon Biocube and use it as my reef tank then turn the 90 into a FOWLR tank. I'm also getting all the equipment to setup a 36gallon bowfront planted tank.

FWIW I am of the opinion that the FOWLR tank is a thing of the past, and here's why: http://utahreefs.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=49054Hope this helps with your future plans.

Thanks for the insight Mark. I have decided that the 14 bio is just going to be a frag tank where I frag corals in my 90 and raise them in the 14 till they are large enough to not be eaten by my Bicolor Angel that enjoys nipping on my LPS.

Ok a quick question. When I get the 14... I want to get a HOB Refugium but, I also want to get a skimmer. I've done the size comparisons and I've found that I can't do both of the as HOB models... Is there a smaller skimmer that works well for the 14 that is an internal skimmer? I'vew heard mixed reviews on the Biocube skimmer that is run off of an air pump... Just wanted to know what everyone thought.

I was reading online that the Hydor Slim skim wouldn't fit in a biocube let alone a 14...

The Slim Skim Nano should be ok (though I'm unfamiliar w/ the 14G dimensions.) Also look into the sera nano 130 I currently run one on a 29G and it works great.
