Topic: Thiefs hit Mountain Shadow. Posted: May 09 2011 at 3:15pm |
This is a e-mail sent from Mountain Shadow Marine to customers.
Sometime over the last two weeks some puke stole a brand new 2.5 lb aluminum CO2 tank just like this one (with my logo on it) and it had a brand new regulator attached to it. It was on the shelf behind the retail counter...I know, they have got some balls cuz if I would have seen them it would have gotten way ugly way fast!
Along with it they took, well I am missing:
· Two Tunze Turbelle's
· A Magnavore 8 and a 6
· A Milwaukee pH meter
· Two 14k HQI lamps
Needless to say I'd like some help putting the word out that if anyone see's this tank...it will be easy to spot as its tiny, it's a 2.5 lb whereas they are normally 5-10lb...and if anyone sees it have them let me know. I'm still investigating the situation with Centerville PD and we have a few leads but any help you can offer would be great.
It really sucks that apparently not only do the local LFS have to compete with the internet, some guy with a "business license" working out of his house AND pop up stores that come and go like the wind selling items at cost or below...but now we have to deal with thief's? Within the last month in addition to this I have had 30 gallons of fuel siphoned from vans, two powder coated steel racks and a freezer stolen, and the license plates stolen off of two vehicles.
Let me know if you hear or see anything, thanks and feel free to forward this at will

This just makes me mad. The sad thing is it's the world we live in and it just seems to be getting worse by the day. I think some of it has to do with economy so many people are desperate but sadly this kind of stuff happens all the time, which make me even more angry. I hope they are able to catch the loser that did this. So sad. Pam

WOW! I'm stunned. I can't believe another store is having this sort of problem.

really sorry to hear that. Things are really getting way out of hand. It's almost weekly now that we hear terrible stories like this.

Yea it is crazy even couple yrs ago when I worked for a heating air place every monday we would would come in and all the vans would be siphoned. even put fake cameras up with big signs and they still didnt care. Finally got real cameras then they did the vans by sliding under them and stayin away from cameras. You could see them moving under but was to dark to see the faces. They always find a way. Times are hard so some go to extremes to get ahead. It's not right because they are just makin things worse because then the companys have to up costs to make up for losses.and then we pay more as customers.

I honestly can't believe that the guy who put the bleach in the tank didn't get caught. I mean, his face is on video...

If you can't afford to be in the hobby and you have to resort to theft - get the hell out.
Not sure how start up businesses out of the basement figure into this incident, but I can understand the frustration ....

Does he not have cameras? What Marine-aquatics did was smart. He put them right on you tube for everyone to see and call the news to do a story. I still waiting for the end to that story. I do hope they catch that guy.
