I bought some of the dry rock that you can buy from Marcorock.com.  With the order that I received some mortar that I have started to use for a background rock wall and may use some on the colum of rock that I want to build to aid in supporting the rocks along with a nylon rod and nuts.  The Mortar that was sent is an in house brand for marco rocks but is equivilant to Thorite 400.  Marco rocks has specifically replied to my emails stating that if used properly and not in extreme quantities is safe for aquariums and is used all the time.

My question is has anyone used this product, know anyone that has used this product, or knows anything about what this product can do the chemistry of my tank?  I have found some threads saying it is great to use and others saying all cement is bad.

At this point regardless I may have to set up the tank and let it cure for a few months prior to stocking it.  I just wnat information from someone who may have experience with this product.

I know a few people who have used it.  Never a problem.

More importantly I know Marc of Marco Rocks very well and completely trust him.  He's a great guy and I'm certain he isn't selling something he thinks will be of harm to your tank.  If you use a small amount here and there to hold the rocks together I'm sure you'll be fine.
