The company can't tell you to do that because their lawyers fear someone would sue them if it caused a problem. That's just business.
Acar, you need to listen to me. I
know that you can remove the splash guard and turn off the fans. If you are careful about splashes and clean the unit regularly, it won't cause any trouble. And if you watch the heat given off by the unit, if it gets hotter than you think it should, buy a $10 clip-on fan (a quiet one

), mount it over on a shelf or something and point it at the light fixture. It will cool the fixture just fine. You can trust me. I've been there, done that.
