So just out of curiosity; How long have flower pots survived in your tanks. I know someone who saw this as a personal challenge and has managed to keep them alive for quite awhile by focussing on feeding rather than lighting. Wondering if anyone else has any experience with them

I am wondering as I was always fond of them though I can not recall actually having one in my tanks. I know the general consensus was that like those Christmas tree worms (giant feather dusters I may have mistaken  the name)   they are pretty much dying from the moment you get them but I have been out of the loop for some time and am curious about experience with both to be honest

My understanding is that they need to be target fed to do well longterm, which can be a pain with several hundred heads on a good piece. Maybe Cap'n Morgan will chime in.
Some day, when I grow up,...

I was doing some research on this topic myself today and found this article by Justin Credabel.  It has some good info.

I have had one in captivity for some time, like 4-5 yrs, it has probably tripled in size, I have never spot fed just give it decent current & lighting, For what it's worth.

I have heard that the green goniopora are actually the hardest to keep alive long-term, and that the red and purple Aussie varities actually do better in captivity...
