I did a search didnt really find anything remotely close.

Got a question/concern

When I was in military doing dives/shark cages in Catalina/or calling in fire from a Naval destroyer off San Clemente Island and dropping some ordnance short into surf zone for some chow.

I was concerned about people slamming doors on my fish tank cabinets, tapping fish food or mostly a vibrating/ratteling/noisy pump.

Does anyone have insight on this.  What kind if any effects on the fish-inverts and such.
They feel right?  Ive watched poeple helping with my fish tanks slam doors ect ect, there supposed to know but don't seem to care.
Is a vibrating pump gonna annoy my fish?

Thanks

Noise from the pump is usually caused by vibration against the surface it's on.  Place the pump on something softer like a mouse mat.

When a powerhead is noisy, a good cleaning may fix it.

I've also tightened a zip tie around a powerhead to quiet it.

Once I had a Rio that rattled sometimes after plugging it in. I would quickly unplug and plug it in once or twice until it stopped rattling. It's like it was out of balance with the electrical cycle somehow.

I wrap a carbon pad around my pumps when they are vibrating..that usually seems to help...
also, as far as slamming doors..as long as the fish have been in there and are happy it does not usually seem to have an affect..if the fish ar new and scared it may affect them...
