We get paid on the first and the fifteenth.
We had a BLOW OUT fight about my quarterly bonus check, which is fine, because I'm not just in sales but also the accountant and I work from home a LOT so I have documentation of everything- right here at home, safe and sound. We were fighting about 5k. Enough to really hurt when I'm supporting my god daughter and my mom.
The fifteenth came went, and then the sixteenth came and I went into the hospital thinking that it was just delayed. Not just my bonus, but my SALARY.
Well, folks, what I do is VERY specialized (like, claw your eyes out, stab someone in the back kinda competitive), so I can go to a competitor, so if it comes down to it I'm Da** good at what I do and probably can have a job in a week or two-but who knows which coast it will be on or if it will be on one at all. He would be an IDIOT not to pay me. He says my money is coming tomorrow. My salary? My bonus too? Who knows. He is out of town on business and refuses to communicate by any means but text message. My only response was, "Thats great, my kid's tuition was due on the 20th, so what should I tell her?" (The kid's tuition was due on the 20th, but it is paid, and was the other bills, I'm just broke as hell now...don't worry!"
Soooo.....I hesitate to do more than finish the plumbing when my pump gets here tomorrow and do a wet run with non-salt water and see how she runs and see how it goes....and then wait.
Biz rule #1 Don't screw your best sales person and lose them
biz rule #2 Don't let that person go to a competitor
biz rule #3 if that person knows all of your top secret plans for the next year refer to number 1
biz rule #4 don't screw accountant at the same time as top sales person because that is just too much for any office, if they are the same person, you're so screwed.
He is back Friday and we have a meeting. I've already had 2 phone interviews, one in the midwest and one on a coast. We will see what happens.
I've been busy since I got out of the hospital.
