Does anyone know how to get aptasia out of my tank. I just started the tank 6 weeks ago and now they are booming and spreading. two days ago i tried aptasia x and thought I had all of them and then this morning I counted atleast 30 and some are huge.
Cut feeding at least in half. Add peppermint shrimp. Continue with aip-x or other DIY killer. If the shrimp have no other source of food, they should eat the aips. You can kill the larger ones with aip-x but make sure you have a good skimmer if you knock off a lot of them. If none of that works, you can put a couple of different species of butterflyfish in there if you don't mind the nipping at corals...I think Kleins work.
+1 on peppermint shrimp, I had aiptasia everywhere for a few weeks it was getting pretty bad and I had tried the aiptasia x which would kill them but they respawn too fast. I added two peppermint shrimp to my 29 gal and less than a week no more aiptasia.
