Are the 70 watt DE and 150 watt DE bulbs the same physical size?  Do they use the same brackets?  Does anyone here have an old 70 watt bulb I could borrow or have or trade or buy?

They are much different the 70 watt is very very small, probably 2/3 - 1/2 the size of a 150 hqi.  That being said I don't have one here, I had a 70 watt setup, but its still back in ohio, if you are wanting to retrofit one you can get the ballast at ballastwise.com for like $30 if I remember.

Office tank is doing great!  I just fragged everything in it for my nano here at home.  I'll resurrect that old thread and post some updated pics.

The 70 watt/150 watt bulb question is for my home nano...  I think the 70 watt bulbs are shorter, but use the same bracket mounting hardware but I'm not sure?

Ok, here's the deal.  I have a 100 watt M90 HX-HPF ballast.  This is a ballast for a 100 watt HQI bulb (which obviously isn't made in an aquarium spectrum).  But I was thinking about buying a 70 watt bulb and bracket and overdriving it with my M90 ballast.  If I buy the bulb and it burns out in a month, I'd at least like to be able to use the brackets for a 150 watt bulb (I'll have to buy a 150 watt ballast).  I think maybe I'll buy a bulb and brackets and give it a go...

Right on, dew!  Heck for $50 I'll just go with the 150 watt ballast.  I've never been to ballastwise.com.  Great prices.  Thanks.
