I'm looking for a hang on back skimmer for our 46 bowfront.  Whats anyone using out there. What about a prizm or a aqua-c remora?

Aqua C Remora should be great, Prizms dont impress me even if they are free!  But then RedSea is a sensitive subject for me when it comes to skimmers.  JME...

I've had good results with the cpr hob skimmer.  My tank is smaller though.

Kirk, have you looked at the Skilter skimmers at Fish-4-U?  Chris likes them!

Ehhh - skilter.

I had one for quite a while, and while it did pull out some nice skimmate (with a slight mod), I hated having to replace the air stone to keep it running efficient. The skilter as-is with the venturi adds bazillions of micro bubbles into the tank. The mod that I did involves an external air pump and a wooden air stone. Using that mod it made pretty good skimmate, but I had to replace the air stone usually every couple weeks. Kind of a pain.

I have heard great stuff about the bak pak R - the one without the bio-bale.

I've heard good stuff about the bak pak R and Remora as well.

If I remember right you can get them with either a rio or a maxijet pump
