So I've got some crazy ideas in my head right now that involve getting a cube aquarium, I'm not talking nano cubes or aquapods, I'm talking bigger cubes, say Marinelands 22x22x24 or glasscages 24x24x24.

First off, does anyone have cubes that are these approximate dimensions, or larger?  If so, how do you like them?  It seems like you may be kind of limited on aquascaping ideas, and fish selection, what have you guys found.  I'm really looking for kind of a pluses and minuses to getting a cube... Thats all...

oh and if you have pics, please share.

I love mine. I'm sure you've seen pictures of it. It is 4 ft by 3 ft by 28 inches tall. the way we did our aquascaping I wasnt worried at all about fish selection. It has 5 returns in the back. one is an always on, and four are hooked up to an OM 4-way. when we were running this with a dart return all the deutritis settle in a small 5inx5in area. Very easy to clean.
as far as aquascaping we did it so that the fish could swim the whole perimiter of the tank, along with a raceway if you will up the middle. I never had a fish act stir crazy in this tank. even when it was stocked with 60 fish. it is now empty :(

we will probably be selling ours after we get this big tank set up, but it will not be for at least a year or two minimum.

Crystal,

Thats a sweet tank... I always wanted a really long tank, now that I have a 6 footer, I'm thinking a cube might be fun...  Of course superwoman would probably kill me if I tried to set up another tank now that the 125 is finally up and running, and I'm finished with all my projects for it...

marineland has there new deep dimension tanks as well, they make an almost identical tank to ours 4x3x2 and you can get it in starphire, i think it runs about 1200 in starphire.  Personally i like the larger cube tanks, a small cube you are really limited in area for aquascaping.

Tim,

Check out the Red Sea Max. It might fit your needs. I really like mine but would go with a 24" cube if I could plumb it to the basement somehow.

i'd do somethin along the dimensions of ours so you wont have stocking and aquascaping issues. otherwise it wont be big enough for tangs.
