Topic: Aiptasia? Posted: March 16 2008 at 12:53pm |
I know this picture is awful, my tank is still cloudy from aquascaping and moving sand. Does this look like aiptasia? I found this on the back of a rock from my tank so the rock's been in the tank for almost a year. I thought aiptasia grew like a weed but there's only one of them. I haven't added anything new to my tank since mid-December and I'd think if it's aiptasia that there would be a ton of them. Anyway... is it the deaded aiptasia?

Not sure if this one's any better... he's in a very weird spot where the light's of the tank don't hit so I can't get auto-focus to work.

Aptasia, yes. Has anyone ever NOT had them? The only problem I see from them is that they are like termites, or mice. They usually don't harm anything ,but they are ugly and multiply like weeds in the wind.

Thanks all... I blasted it with boiling water and it pulled back into the rock so no idea if it's alive or not. I didn't even know it was there so if they are spreading they've all stayed out of my vision. I had mojano once but never seen aiptasia before this.
