Guess who the new Retirement Counselor for the Monterey Bay Aquarium's 403b retirement plan is? I just booked my trip to go out on the 27th. I can't believe I'm getting paid to go to an aquarium. Just thought I'd brag a little.  How cool is that?

Thanks Dinhkim! I've never been to the aquarium there and am pretty excited for any down time I have. Either way though, I'll be talking all day to aquarium employees. I can imagine the conversations already...
1. At what age do you plan to reitire?
2. Are you maxing out your 403b contributions?
3. Any chance I could go for a dip in the kelp forest display?

I think that just about covers all of the pertinent points. Concise and to the point. I bet you can sweet talk them into letting you change into a wet suit and take a dip in their displays, knowing how smooth you can be. Well, maybe not the great white shark display. We wouldn't want you to lose certain precious body parts . When I was there, that was the excitement of the whole program.

Do they still have the Great White? I thought they had to get rid of her because she was getting too aggressive and killing the other sharks. I figure I'll be allright in her tank as long as I don't dress like a shark. I hope they still have one. That has always been something I've wanted to see.

I'm good on the pen and paper Brad, but I could use someone to help me smuggle a sea otter back. My tanks a little small, so I was hoping I could keep it in yours. You'll need to buy some clams and a bigger skimmer.
Turns out they do have a Great White. This is the 3rd one they've tried. They'll keep him till he is too big and release him and then replace him with number 4. I think they only kept that first female for about nine months before she was too big and mean.

Thanks all! It's not a job promotion or anything. It just turns out they needed a representative to cover the plan out there. When I saw Monterey Bay Aquarium, I quickly volunteered. I was in Nashville this week and that was fun too (excpet for that darned Carrie Underwood who kept making passes at me), but this will be great!

My brother works for the Monterey Bay Aquarium...I'll be sure to warn him.
Try "Peppers" for dinner in Pacific Grove. About 5 min from the aquarium. One of my favs.
