I don't have a picture up tonight, but maybe someone will be able to guess what I'm talking about from the description Big%20smile

I have this type of macro algae growing in my aquarium and I don't know what it is.  It's a dark green in color, and doesn't seem to have any leaves, it's more of a root system.  It started out among two different corals I got from Dion (yes I'm blaming you if it's bad LOL) Some GSP and some Zoas, but I have recently noticed it spreading through out my rocks...  My yellow tank won't touch it Angry I thought they ate anything green...

Anyway, any guesses?

If its long and thin then its either codium or sponge. If it looks plating then Halimeda.

WARNING!!!!  Any of the above will cause severe coolness of your tank.Cool

More likely it's what I like to call the "color changing Sponge". It is white out of the light and green or black in the light. It looks somewhat like the Codium that Mike showed above, but it's sponge.

Mark,

I think you may just be right, there is some under a rock and it does look kinda white, but the stuff that is directly in the light is dark green or black.  It does look like the codium, but it isn't near as thick as whats show in the picture.

Dion, I'm happy to know that this will cause "severe coolness" in my tank.  I think it  might actually be the drug that fuels your addiction...  Not only am I'm looking for a 75 or 90 gal for my living room right now, but I've also been looking for a 12 gal nano for my desk at work... That would put me up to 4 tanks within my first year in the hobby...
