I got this lovely big head of Candy Cane a while back and now I am questioning my ability to take care of it.  It is about 6 inches across and a lovely light green color (pic really doesn't do justice).

When I first got it it would come right out to feed as soon as the lights went off.   I have had it a couple of months and only in the last little while have I noticed that it isn't extending like it used to..  I am sure it needs a little special care for a while.  It still looks lovely but I would like to find it a new home before it starts to look sad.

So here is the deal...  Is there someone out there that can care for this lovely coral that wants to swap out a couple of interesting mushrooms or other softies that don't require too much hand holding??

:)  Thanks in advance..

:) M

You can check out my site and see if there is anything you would like to exchange it. Are you shure you dont want to keep it and just figure out what is going wrong? Candy cane is usually very hardy.

My LPS, including Caulestrea/Candy Cane Coral are also suffering lately. Let's talk about it before you throw in the towel.Smile

IME, LPS need about the same or less water flow than Soft Coral, like about the same amount of light, like Alkalinity of 8-10 and Ca of 300-400. I believe that changing the Activated Carbon in my tank will help since it's been weeks. LPS Coral also do well with periodic additions of Mg, Sr, Mb and a little I. So how is your tank doing in this regard and how do we add these, if deficient?

BTW, I see several things around it that are encroaching on it's space. The first thing I would do is to move it or them. Approve

Have you been spot feeding it, mine usually perk up after a little TLC.
