I am thinking of getting either a queen angel or blue face angel and was wondering what kind of corals these fish will usually eat, sps, lps, soft corals, mushrooms etc.

i have never owned one myself but was told they eat pretty much everything. i think it would be hard for them to eat hard corals but they could probably get at the polyps on them. but im not too sure about exactly what they eat.

Keep in mind all fish are individuals and they each act differently. The large angels (which you have mentioned) may take any variety of softies, LPS, feather dusters and clams. I tried a juvi Imperator and he was great, but now that I have more prized corals, I don't know that I would try another one. I was worried enough buying a Coral Beauty.

I know of a Queen Angel in a 5 year old 180. It has done very well, not bothering any coral that I know of. It went in about 4 months ago at about 3" and has grown to almost 5".
A Blue Face Angel in a soft coral only 150 gal that I know of does very well. I don't know if it would bother LPS if it had the chance.

I've had Flame Angels, Coral Beauty Angels, Bi-Color Angels, Cherub Angels, and a Half-Black Angel. All Pygmy Angels. Only the Half-Black ever bothered corals, but he nipped at everything constantly. I had to get him out as he was killing some of my most prized corals.
I had an Emporer Angel for a short time in a tank with just a few soft corals and he never even looked at them. I'm actually tempted to try one in my reef, but my understanding is the larger Angels pick at LPS more than anything and I loves my LPS.

My CB doesn't pick at any of my coral either. I would suggest you go with one of them, they are really pretty.

Perhaps I would be better at basket weaving. . . at least it would be cheaper!
