This looks amazing...

except the price!

http://www.ecotechmarine.com/home.htm

Aquarium  Specialty is taking orders with a $50 deposit.  Looks like the pump is approx. $350

same principle as a tunze stream for moving water.... no?

thats gonna be some big *ss magnet to hold itself up unless the motor is quite light...  motors tend to be pretty heavy.  i'm wary of any product that doesn't have a real picture when it is for sale

no kidding, who doesn't use a real product picture if they have one, and if they don't have one and it's yet to be prototyped then that means design flaws that still might need working. Cool concept though.

I think a MJ 1200 can be modded by fitting a hobby propeller to the impeller
shaft and get something like that, it will probably be really big but definitely
about 300 bucks cheaper.

I was talking to Greg Carrol about these at the southwest coral farmers market (our booths were next to each other) He had one up and running there, Pretty impressive it was just like the tunze.

I have one at home somewhere.

I've also taken a few pictures of it on a tank.  If you remind me when I'm home tonight I'll post a couple pics for you.  They really are quiet, strong, easy to mount, and all that stuff.  But I had no idea they were so pricey.

I'm still not a powerhead fan, and these are powerheads in my opinion.

Here it is with the cover off, showing the propeller

Here it is with the cover on, showing the flow across the water surface
