Personally I just use RO water and a towel, but you can use windex if your real careful and ensure none gets into the tank.

I use windex, but I spray it onto a paper towel away from the tank, actually in the laundry room where the windex is.  I've always done it like this, and have never had a problem.  Vinegar is safe in small amounts, so you could use that.

Towel and water here too and I dry it as I go to help prevent water spots.

I use RO water, the use my magnet float to polish it up. Works pretty well.

Down here in Cedar City, I can't use water to clean the tank.  Way too hard!!!  Windex all the way.  I really like the stuff that foams, because I have more control of it not going into the tank.
