Topic: Jebao 12000 issues Posted: February 20 2016 at 7:20pm |
So two night ago I woke up to my return pump working but it wouldn't push water up and out my return line so I pulled it all apart and no clog in the line or in the pump. Checked it out a few times after putting in in and trying it but the same thing moving water but won't push it up the return anyone have this problem before? All help is greatly appreciated.

Does the impeller spin freely or is it still tied to the magnet? Mine has not done this on my 12000 but I have had several other pumps where the impeller will spin free on the shaft apart from the magnet, my easy fix and has worked every time is to super glue the impeller to the magnet but be sure to not glue to the shaft as its supposed to spin freely on the shaft but be tied to the magnet.

It is still secured to the magnet and everything spins together magnet and impeller.

When you change the rate of the pump can you hear the change is spin speed?

I would just go buy a new pump but being medically retired I am on a fixed income and only get my retirement at the first of every month.

Do you have a multimeter? If so, what DC voltage are you getting from the power supply? Center of the plug should be positive.

Hum...that's correct for that supply. It would appear that the power supply is working. Now I'm wondering what you get at the hot and control pins that would go into the actual pump, after the controller. That would tell us where the problem is.

Oh please don't think that you need to buy a new pump. I am the King of Cheap in this club. Most of the time there is a way to fix things. Does it work properly when tested in the kitchen sink? Is it pumping water much slower than it should? The impeller magnet can become swollen and warped making it out of balance. In fact this is by far the most common problem with these submersible pumps. Hold the post between your fingers and spin it. Look carefully as it spins to see if there is even just the slightest wobble. Sight down the length of the magnet to see if it is a completely straight, smooth cylinder. It doesn't take much to keep it from working right. The new impeller is $9.99 at Amazon. I did a google search for "Jebao 12000 impeller at Amazon" and found it listed as this, "Spare Part Rotor for Jebao Dc 12000 Submerge Pump" Aloha, Mark

Could be the impeller, but the failure history on this pump points to the motor or the controller, hence the question about what the data line and power line voltages are from the controller.

I will have to check those number out and let you know what the readings are. Everything with the impeller looks and feels good the thing is only 4 months old.

If it's that new, drop in another pump temporarily and send for a replacement.

Agreed with Fatman, just get it replaced. I have a mag 9 you can use if you don't have a back up. Let me know.

So I get 24 volts on one post constantly and the other post I get 22v at lowest speed and 19v at highest speed. I don't know much about electric when it comes to this stuff but shouldn't it stay at least 24v on both posts all the time. Also when I hit feed the both stay at 24v.

The Constant 24v pin is correct. The control pin is not correct. It should be a voltage in the 0-10v range. )v being off or feed and 10v being on full. It looks like its the controller that is bad but at those higher voltages that you saw it could have damaged the pump as well. Get it replaced. Contact the place where you purchased it and they can get you information on a replacement. Krazie

Reaper, sorry, I was asleep at the wheel. Jeff hit the nail on the head with his assessment. Thanks for bailing me out on this one, Jeff. I'd return it to where you purchased it from. The controller is definitely bad, but that could have been caused by the motor going bad and burning something in the circuit up.
