Just discovered this little guy hanging out near the waterline of my aquarium. Is it reef safe? Should I pull him out?

sea lemon nudibranch? I've read that they give off a citrus smell when they are handled outside of the water.

I take a more positive approach than above, because ~99% of all the animals in our tanks are beneficial as part of the amazing diversity of the ocean ecosystem. I leave new organisms alone and enjoy them, only removing one if it is seen doing harm or I find out for sure it is bad. The fact that it's roaming means it's not finding a preferred food. Unfortunately, almost all Nudibranchs eventually fade away and disappear due to starvation but until then - enjoy it.

Here are a couple of the good Nudibranchs I've kept.

Hooded Nudibranch

Spanish Dancer

and lastly, the only one I ever found that needed to be removed, as it appeared to be the type that eat Leather Coral.

Mark  Hug

Several years ago, I had those yellow nudi's. They were so awesome! They reproduced well in my tank, and they just seemed to munch on algae. I completely forgot about them until this post. Wonder what happened to them....

If they're the same ones I had, they'll probably reproduce. A sump won't stop them.

I believe I've narrowed it down to what is considered Elysia the "Caulerpa Slug."

With that being said, I wouldn't mind if it were to reproduce in my tank. Can you say free caulerpa maintenance? I just wonder how much it will consume. Ermm
