IMO, the best way is to drip them. Use an airline hose and restrict the flow down to a drip after starting a syphon into a bucket or bowl or whatever the corals are in . I usually do not acclimate my corals, but it doesn't hurt to do it. I won't take them out of the dark box and put them directly under bright though. I would make the transition from dark to bright take a little while. Maybe an hour or so. Again, maybe this isn't neccessary, but it won't hurt.

Please take the advise of Marcus. The drip method is the best. Also Garf has their corals under VHO lighting only. If there is any sudden change in lighting they will bleach. Please take this very slowly, start at the bottom of the tank and move them up or "What was suggested by Calfo and Borneman is to get some window screening and place several squares in layers above the new coral so that the light it receives is filtered by the screens. How you secure the screens above the corals is up to you, use your imagination. Once secured you can remove a layer every few days until the coral is acclimated to full tank lighting". I got this from Reef Central.
Good luck and be very, very, very patient

Thanks for the tips. My tank is 30 inches tall. I've put the frags on the bottom. Do you think I should put the window screen over them still? I did do the drip system. 8 out of 10 survived shipping. 2 were bleaching and sloughing by the time I opened the box. Garf has been good in the past about crediting such things. Is 80% a good, average, or bad percent for surviving shipping?
Thanks

Just because they have bleached does NOT mean that they are dead. They very well may come back in time. Don't give up on them.

Kirk -
you can email me the pics and I'll post them for you. You have to have a website or some place to host the pictures from. I have 2 websites, so I'll be happy to host them and post them to this thread.
