Would getting a little water treated with copper that slipped out of the fish bag really stop by inverts and corals from living? Im going to test for copper later today but would like to read any thought on this. It's in a tank with over 100g of water.

It depends on the concentration of copper in the bag, and how much water was poured in. Regardless, I would start running some carbon just to be on the safe side. Unless you poured in the whole bag, I don't think it would be too much of a problem as 100g should dilute it to a level that's probably pretty close to NSW levels (and what comes in your salt mix already).

Cyanobacteria is really effective at removing copper from the water, so if you have any in your tank, even just in the filter, I wouldn't worry too much, because it will most likely be removed by the cyano.

A little copper from a fish bag would probably have little effect on inverts and corals since the concentration is probably very low.

I do have cyno that grows only in one spot on the tank, up on the highest ledge. I have been able to keep crabs alive for 3 days now and one alive for about 2 months as the other 8 died within 24 hours. I did a 10g water change today and added a zoa colony from my other tank. Wish me luck. I never though I would get so worried about keeping Zoas alive, haha.

The copper level in a bag of fish water should be pretty low (unless the petstore was dosing way too much copper) . Adding that to 100 gallons would put the copper level at extremely low levels. I am surprised that the copper would have killed your crabs that fast. I would start looking at everything else as I doubt the copper would have the devastating of an effect on your tank.

I tested them at Reef runners and he said my Calcium was a little under 400 which I have been getting up slowly. Alk was around 11 today. Phosphates were not detected and nitrates were near zero. I have been working to get my calcium reactor fine tuned at 6.2 pH as it hasn't been tuned right due to my inexperience with them. I though 6.8 would be okay but was told 6.2 is where it needs to be at timekeeping the media I'm running. I don't know what else it could be. I added some fresh carbon today to pull anything out of the water that might harm the Zoas I added. So far the ploys are closed:(

According to my hydrometer it's .025. I'm going to check it with a refractometer today at the store when I check for copper.

Is there enough for your crabs to eat? I lost a couple emerald crabs after several months and I'm fairly sure that it was because they didn't have enough to eat. If you are losing them faster, though, there may be a problem with your water.
Why is it that you suspect copper from the fish bag? Did your LFS treat the fish with copper before you got them?
It also sounds like you have a lot of changes taking place in your tank that would be adding to te stress levels of your tank inhabitants.
The only things I have seen kill anything within a few days are extremely toxic water or too much radiation from an unshielded metal halide bulb. That bulb killed my otherwise healthy flame angel in less than 12 hours

I suspect copper because my fish are SUPER healthy with out a trace of a ick or any other parasites. I have a Naso tang and blue tang that once had ick a month and a half ago. The Naso and a pair of cardinals came in water that had copper in it. I'm just trying to narrow the problem down. Fluctuating peramiters might be a small problem buy nothing to stop Zoas from opening. I just read a thread on tank maturity and starting to think it may be due to small cycles in bacteria growing and dying. My tank is only 3 months old and a few weeks.
