I've not hand tested but I have a recently calibrated Ph probe that has been giving me consistent readings of 8.00 to 8.1 variance throughout the day since I calibrated it. 

I'm running a dual chamber Ca reactor at 20 bubble per minute and the flow is roughly 2-3 drops per second. I've been getting reading of 390-410 ca and 9.6-10 alk over the past few months and I've been doing 15% water changes bi-weekly religiously using Reef Crystals. 

I understand that is low for Ph but does this really matter that much? The tank appears to be doing great. I've got growth on all my SPS (how few there are) and am getting lots of coraline growth as well. 

Should I be worried that I'm on the hairy edge of low ph or is this totally normal? And if it is a problem, what do I get to do?

In the winter months when your windows and doors are always closed and your heater is running, this is perfectly normal.  Should you want to change and get a higher ph  (I wouldn't)  you can run a airline tube from your skimmer venturi to open air outside and it will bring it up.   (If it aint broke, Dont fix it)

Ah good. I had a guy at an LFS (MSM) tell me that having that low of a ph is a big problem. I feel a little more comfortable now, thank you.

As long as the pH is between 7.8 and 8.5 don't worry about it.

Now at 8.4 you will get faster coral growth than at 7.8, it really does not cause any problems, and trying to correct the "problem" can cause a lot more damage than the "problem" in the first place.

Keep your alk up, and don't worry about the pH at all.

PH is important, but  it is the STABLE part that matters. as long as you don't jump from 7.6 to 8.4 in a few hours you are good. So 8.0-8.1 all day is great
