I love feeding our flower anemone.  I give it anything I can catch.  It especially likes a strugling cricket.  Sometimes I wonder what would happen if you started feeding an anemone red meat.

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth ... then He let it cycle.

Have you read my dinosaur theory yet?

Bad idea Jared.  One taste of red meat and they mutate.  You'd hate to come to the office one day and be greeted by a 10' anemone waiting to eat you.  How could you in good conscience release that into the world.

The other day I came in too feed my tank as I was on my way to work and  found  my coral banded being eaten by my button polyps.  I wish I'd had time to take a pic, but I was already running late.  For some reason they ate his head first.  Everything else was still in tact.  Of course it was a recent molt, but for a minute I wasn't sure.  It looked exactly like the shrimp.  I would have expected it to look kind of clear and see-through like from a peel and eat shrimp.  I was awfully glad to see his antennae thingys sticking up from behind another rock.

Jglover, sorry to hear of your loss.  At least you know your anemone is eating well. Feed Me  (Sorry, had to try it.)

I was going to say that. It looks mor like the shed part of the cleaner shrimp. Look in the tank tonight. He might still be there.

hehe...no kidding. I remember freaking out the first time my Blue Lobster shed and I thought it was a goner....until he came out to say hello as I scooped away his shell.

If he is actually gone, my condolences. I had the same thing happen a week or two ago. I bought a spider Crab (I refuse to learn latin names) and he was a big fella, so I was kinda scared he was going to eat my coral.......until one day I saw my Carpet anenome spit out the remainder of his skull!    Guess he was a little more bold than most and got too close. I have yet to see an anenome kill any of my other smaller tankmates. I can't for the world of me figure out how he fit the whole thing in his mouth

I hope he's still alive and hiding somewhere.  When they molt their exoskeleton, it's really neat to know that they've grown bigger & stronger.  I hope condolences aren't in order.

Still no sign of him I'm almost certain he's a gonner because he always sheds in the back corner of my tank and well he's gone:(

Yesterday, when I fed my tank, I noticed my cleaner shrimp dancing on the tentacles of my green bubble and taking flake food away from it.  Rose BTAs have more sting than green BTAs though.
