I found my sea hare completely buried in the sand.  Is this normal?  There is a tiger jawfish and a blenny that flips sand on everything so he could have had help.  I unburied him not knowing what to do. He is moving so he is not dead. I just want to know so I won't panic if it happens again.  Or if I need to move the jawfish or blenny.

I never had that problem with my seahare or my jawfish.

I've seen them do that on occasion.  Has it consumed all the algae in the tank?

Nope, there is plenty of it left.  I can't see it now it crawled away and is hiding or buried itself again.

I don't trust Sea Hares. Too often they die without making a dent on the nuisance algae. Snails are much better and keep the tank clear of bad algae in the long run.

I had one for a short time and it did somewhat the same thing. Would partially (not completely) bury itself and seemed to be sleeping or resting(?). After awhile it would get back to work. Fascinating to watch.

I was thinking of getting one because I heard that my California Rays would eat my snails and/or crabs. What do you sugest Mark?

Mine does it every couple of days.  Shane at aquatica said that is pretty normal.
