What do you use to feed your sps?And how often? I thought that sps just relied upon light to photosynthisis. I have been feeding my whole reef Kent marine ChromaMax and DT's photoplankton premium reef blend. I guess my question is this. Am I feeding my tank the right stuff? Confused

I do not feed my SPS directly. Just my LPS. LPS definitely benefit greatly from being spot fed. I do add a little phyto to my LPS feeding mixture so I'm sure some of that gets kicked around the tank when I turn the pumps back on. But my SPS are growing the same now as they did before I started adding phyto.

SPS are carnivores, not vegetarian.  I don't think phyto does a whole lot to them.  I use the first two smallest sizes of golden pearls as well as  frozen rotifers.  Both can be purchased at Brineshrimpdirect.com in Ogden.

A lot of people use oyster eggs and have good result as well.

PE is the same.  Some acro will extend extra feeding tentacles though.  However, I usually feed them when all lights are off, since that is when they naturally fed.
