any body know if you can get the brine shrimp out of great salt lake. and use them for fish food. Can you freeze them? thanks.

I believe there are a couple people on this board who do get brine shrimp from the lake...I believe Mark is one of them.

Yes, in the summer when they are alive, you can scoop them out, rinse
them and freeze them in a ziplock...

Watch for an announcement in April.
Last year the only big hatch was in April. The rest of the year it was "slim pickins".

You know I'm in for the trip. Last year I was able to collect enough to feed my tanks thru the winter. Like Suzy said wash and freeze them in freezer bags.

what is the method for "brining"? i might be interested as well... i run that stupid antelope island cause way out and back for marathon training about once a month. and those flies, Da** those flies... if only i could get something nice from the great salt lake
