90 Gallon Mixed Reef Build

Time has come to start a big tank! what better than a nice 90 gallon setup to start with. I got the tank from someone here on the forum local and transported it back home to california. Oh and on the topic, good news! The photon clownfish pair i won at fragstock made it to california and are doing well! thanks to who donated those, they are fabulous!!! I have been working hard lately cleaning and polishing out the acrylic tank and am currently waiting on weldon 4 to seal a small crack on the top. We have chosen a nice wood stand for the tank (if i had more time i could have made an absolutely beautiful stand) but i will still make a hood to go with it. we are currently modifying and strengthining the stand for the tank to fit the overflow and install a solid bottom for the acrylic. Pictures to come soon! any questions or comments are welcome! list of equipment and details on setup will come with pictures along with when i figure pit what will be used.

Time for pictures!! Starting with current livestock that will temporarily fill the tank once it is set up. 3 yellow tail damsels, 2 photon clownfish, algae blenny, 2 anemones, and possibly 2 clarkiis. + many crabs and snails. I have a rock full of green palys and some other green birds nest frags and digi frags that will go in. Nice feather duster  and the pretty button polyps I won at Fragstock. I also have 5 frags of xenia that I plan on having cover the entire back wall along with some frags of GSP that I will purchase. Hopefully after a year or so they will grow to cover the back wall of the tank to provide a pretty flowing background.

Before you fill it with water there are some things that ought to be done. Would you like to know what I see?

added sealer to all the wood to keep water out and letting it dry now. also posted a light idea in the diy section, 200w led topic. any info on that will help!

Coral time!

Temporary New Aquascaping. Will be adding several large pieces of large dry Fiji cured rock in the next few days. Added several corals over the 4th of july weekend and more previously. Added Humu Picasso trigger, blue tang, 4 green chromis, red firefish, dwarf pygmy angel, and a peppermint shrimp.

Quarantine tank is also set up and running. Added a float valve to the sump and will be looking to add some dosing pump system because I am finding myself dosing calcium quite a bit. I will also be replacing the single 250w metal halide lamp with 2 120w led systems. Soon I will be looking into getting the system a little more automated for as little cost as possible. May grab an rodi unit and run it through the attic to the tank, should be easy. Im also looking into apex and control systems but for now they are too pricey. Along with dosing pumps to keep the tank low maintenance.
