So I have a good size clean up crew going with about 50 snails. They are definitly making some headway. But I have quite a few lazy ones that just cruise to the top of the tank and sit at or above the water line and just stay there. At first I thought they were trying to make a get away but none have tried to crawl over the lip. Anyways are they just being lazy and dont want to clean or are they trying to tell me something about my tank? And should I just pull them off and drop them back down where I want them? Thanks in advance

Thats just what they do.  They will move.  You can move them but my bet is that they will go right back to where they want to be.  (yes, I am speaking from experience.)LOL

That's normal too.  I have some that rarely move.  It makes me mad when my glass is dirty and there they sit.

My guess is that they are so fat and happy with an abundance of algae that they don't have to go far to get their fill and then they go back to bed.
Margarita's are tidal zone snails. They spend every six hours out of water.
How many snails are in this 54 gal tank?
May we see a pic please to see what we would recommend?

Ok as far as numbers I ordered a complete clean up crew off aquabid and got what I though was a great deal. Now I dont think as much of it. I got 30 dwarf ceriths that are about 1-2mm each. 30 BLUE LEG HERMIT CRABS again very small, 15 ASTREA TURBO SNAILS, 20 NERITE GRAZERS MARINE SNAILS, 15 NASSARIUS VIBEX SNAILS AND ONE PEPPERMINT DANCING SHRIMPS. All but the turbos were very small. So I went to Birdworld and took advantage of their .69 sale. And added 20 real sized ceriths, 10 large assorted hermits and 2 mexican turbos. So it seems like alot but my tank is very messy. It housed dirty fish and no clean up for a while. But anyway onto some pics.
